A Thundercats anime???
Warner Bros. has officially released the first high resolution image of Studio 4°C’s new take on the classic ’80′s Thundercats franchise. Warner’s Japanese produced Thundercats anime will premiere later this year.
The animation was produced by 4°C studio.
This is it:
The full resolution pic can be seen here: http://twitpic.com/3tfrip/full
(source: Ain't it cool news, Anime News)
Hmm...weird. It reminds me a bit of the New Young Justice series going on in Cartoon Network. Not really fond of that kind of animation.

Store special: Vistablet penpad review
If you ever felt that getting a digital tablet to improve your digital drawing experience, especially when it comes to drawing or illustrating your ideas, was nearly impossible because of the high cost of a Wacom tablet, let me tell you that those days are definitely over for good.
Why? Because a certain company called Vistablet has developed their own version to compete with the traditionally established Wacom.
I bought the 7.7 inch Vistablet Penpad on December because of the low cost (40$) and the 10% discount coupon they offered on Amazon.
At first I wasn't sure. Was it worth the risk to buy something 'cheap' for the sake of it?
In this case, risking something is the KEY to gain something that will get you above.
The Vistablet Penpad offers 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, which is the standard for drawing or completing your manga illustrations. Given that manga is mostly black and white, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
The design of the tablet is very simple. It's not on the sophisticated side, nor it doesn't look or feel cheap at all. Indeed it's perfect for beginning students or artists that don't want to spend much in something too fancy.
The tablet is connected to the computer through a USB cable, and it comes with a CD that along with the tablet drivers', it offers alternative software such as ArtWeaver, that I gotta say it surprised me because of its versatility.
It was very easy to install and configure. You have the option of adjusting the pressure, the clic speed and sensitivity, if it works in cm or inches, the buttons, and it lets you test them. Nothing out-of-this-world here, but it assures you that it does its job.
I've been using it with Manga Studio 4 and Adobe Illustrator CS4 recently and I haven't had any issue at all. Both programs (as well as Photoshop) recognize it perfectly, even though with Manga Studio you need to increase the tilt and pressure a bit in the brush, pen, and pencil tool options, so it reads your movements better.
My recommendation would be to never bend it if you carry it in your bag, backpack or purse, make sure you always carry it in a hard case, since it's mostly like a mouse pad, and that could damage it.

Hidan no Aria preview trailer
If you didn't think that mixing the 'moe' concept with action, seinen and ecchi wasn't possible, well, this story by Akamatsu Chuugaku may prove you wrong.
Here's the preview trailer for the anime which will premiere this year:
Tokyo Butei High school is a special school where armed detectives, also known as "Butei" are being brought up. Tohyama Kinji is a sophomore student who has the unique body which activates a "super mode" when it was stimulated by "something". He tries to hide it to others in order to live a peaceful life. But trouble came to find him when he became a victim of a bombing incident, where he met the Butei high "Assault" department elite, Aria H. Kanzaki.

Infinite Stratos will premiere on Jan 23rd, simulcast by The Anime Network
Hmmm, Highschool of the Dead, the mecha version? |
Every Sunday will have a mini marathon of these episodes!!
The first episode will be free for non-subscribers. This is all according to a press release by The Anime Network.
The story is a light novel series by Izuru Yumizuru, about a boy named Ichika Orimura, the only male in the world able to pilot a IS (Infinite Stratos) weapon system.
Bleach: To end or not to end?
Ok, so it's been quite a while since this manga was first published in 1999 and got its anime on 2004.
The story developed, we all fell in love with its unique characters that always offer something for someone, as it has sold thousands of copies in manga and DVDs around the world.
But since one of the main arcs that have motioned the very core of the story of the series came to an end recently in the manga, it's difficult to predict where the series will go. What's left? Bleach GT?
This even has impacted the anime with a rumor that it would end soon, with possibly a break and a relaunch, even the Technical Director couldn't exactly debunk the rumor.
I mean, it's quite obvious, isn't it?
It's interesting how the latest poll in this very blog shows how divided and polarized readers feel right now.
Could Bleach really last 10 more years without losing steam?
Barely 33% of the votes responded with a HELL yeah!, and a really close 32% responded with an absolute NO.
Yet the one important portion of voters is unsure with 'It frightens me' (6%), 'Hmm...not sure how it would turn out?' (11%) and 15% answered 'No way if it turns out like Dragon Ball', which sums still 32%!!!
You know, I'm not really fond of extending stories for the sake of doing so, or for editorial pressure, but I'd still bet on what KuboTaito-sensei has to offer.
After all, the Aizen arc could just well be 'the flashback/backstory' of Kurosaki Ichigo...

Warner Bros. reportedly hired a director and a screenwriter for Death Note movie
NO WAY!!!!!! |
Deadline reports that Warner Brothers studio has reportedly hired writer/director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang; writer, Lethal Weapon film series) to direct a live-action Hollywood film based on the classic manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.
The report also states that Anthony Bagarozzi (of Black's upcoming film Doc Savage) and Charles Mondry will write the film's script.
Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the series from previous rights-owner Vertigo Entertainment in 2009, at which time screenwriter brothers Vlas and Charles Parlapanides were attached to the project.

If you wanted moe, you can find plenty of it with this series. As a conjunct effort by car maker Subaru and studio Gainax, the story is inspired on the concept that originated the brand of these Japanese cars, as The Pleiades is the English name for the star cluster that the Japanese call "Subaru", which is the origin of the car maker's name and six-star logo.

Rumor: Bleach anime ending this year?
We have quite a controversy today since Japanese rock band ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D posted on its blog on Saturday that their new song "Song for..." will serve as a "fitting" ending theme song for the Bleach anime's final season.
Oh dear, DID THEY JUST SAY THE FINAL SEASON OF BLEACH??!??! HOW?!?!?!
The band removed the mention of Bleach anime's final season from its blog post, but the post is still available here
The song will be the ending theme of the anime starting on Tuesday."
It makes sense, given certain events that took place in the manga that I will not spoil away, but yeah, it could mean the end of the classic Bleach anime as we know it, and then the premiere of BleachShippuden after a while.
And of course this could also mean a rise in the quality of the animation since they'd be starting brand new!! (at least I hope so)

Kimi to Boku Flash Anime Gets Live-Action Film in May
This just goes to prove that a good independent project can really make it big in the manga and animation industry,
Creator Shigeto Yamagara based his self-produced Flash anime on his own real-life experiences. Since he launched the anime online in 2001, it has garnered 4.8 million page views. The anime was translated into English under the name Everlasting Heart. Yamagara published a book version in 2009.
Kimi to Boku (You and I) is the story of an aspiring mangaka and his cat, told from the cat's perspective. It follows the friendship between the cat and the young man from when they first meet up to when they must part.
The live-action adaptation will have Beck's Aoi Nakamura as the mangaka, and Maaya Sakamoto as the voice of the cat, as well as the performer of the theme song.
Aren't they cute??? ^_^

Noitamina timeslot will go through some changes
With the sudden(?) ending of the first season of Kuragehime, Fuji TV channel is changing a bit of its programming, adding series such as Anohana and C, which will premiere on April of this year.
Anohana is short for Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai. (Here we go again with long names!), whereas C is a story is set during the 21st century when the economic future of Japan is in doubt.
Another series, called No° 6, which is an adaptation of the novel by Atsuko Asano, will premiere on July, produced by studio BONES. It is a science fiction story set in a future model city in 2013. Raised as a top-ranking elite since the age of 2, a boy named Shion lives in an exclusive area in No. 6. On the night of his 12th birthday, he rescues a boy who calls himself "Nezumi" ("Rat"). Nezumi ran away from the city's Special Security Area. From that moment on, Shion's life is changed forever...
And Air Usagi Drop, based on the Usagi Drop manga, will also air in July. 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi comes home from his grandfather's funeral to discover a little girl named Rin in his garden. Rin is the 6-year-old illegitimate daughter of Daikichi's grandfather, and Daikichi decides to take her in when no one in the family accepts the responsibility.
The manga has been running in Shodensha's Feel Young women's magazine since 2005, and Yen Press will publish the third manga volume in North America in March.
