Kuragehime DVD/BD will come out next year

Well, this could only indicate that the possible second season of the anime could come out later this year, or next year at the most. And that's a big COULD, since we have no confirmation yet.

FUNimation announced its acquisition of home entertainment, broadcast, digital, and merchandising rights to the 2010 Kuragehime (Jellyfish Princess) television series. The eleven-episode series will be released on domestic DVD & BD next year. FUNimation simulcast the series last fall.

A 'Noir' live action film is in the works, produced by Sam Raimi

The Hollywood Reporter indicates that Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are working on a live action adaptation of this story by Ryoe Tsukimura and directed by Koishi Mashimo that aired on TV Tokyo on 2001. Stephen Lightfoot (Criminal Justice, House of Saddam) will write the series, as well as executive produce.

The movie will be presumably for TV and it will air on Starz network, though it's still unknown when it will premiere.

Funimation will re-release the series on DVD next year in the U.S.

Noir is the story of Mireille Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura. Mireille is a young woman whose family was murdered when she was a child and she works as an assassin, while Kirika is a teenage girl with amnesia that only remembers the word 'Noir' and her assasination skills.

Funimation will simulcast Kuragehime and SoraOto!

It was about time! From this Thursday, Anime News Network announced that Funimation began its plans to begin simulcasting the current Princess Jellyfish (Kuragehime) television anime this Thursday and the current Heaven’s Lost Property Season Two (Sora no Otoshimono Forte) TV anime series this Friday. Crunchyroll began officially streaming the later series four weeks ago.

Ghost Hunt manga will end this month on volume 12th

Kodansha announced that this supernatural mystery manga by Shiho Inada, adapted from the light novels by Fuyumi Ono, will end on September 30. Ono is also known by being the auther of 12 Kingdoms and Shiki.

The story started to be published in 1998 on Arnie magazine, only to move later to Nakayoshi magazine. It has had a cult status success, being published only in book volumes.

It was licensed by Del Rey for its distribution in the United States, and Funimation licensed the 25 episode anime in 2008, being available in DVD.

It is the story of a high school girl named Mai Taniyama, who knows a tall, dark, handsome teenager, who leds Shibuya Psychic Research, a paranormal investigation agency.

Mai ends up joining this particular agency, whose associates include a Chinese occultist, a world-famous psychic, a self-proclaimed Shinto shrine maiden, a former Buddhist monk, and a Catholic exorcist. The agency's adventures throughout modern Japan blend elements of Asian folklore and European mythology.

Funimation picks up Disgaea

Funimation has announced that it has acquired the rights of distribution for the transmission of the Disgaea anime, a 2006 series formerly distributed by Geneon, which is based of a SRPG game called Makae Senki Disgaea, developed by Nippon Ichi Software in 2003..

The 12 episodes will now have the possibility of being seen worldwide, as they will come out in DVD rereleased next year.

Funimation will license and distribute Ga-Rei: Zero anime!!

This prequel adaptation of the original manga by Hajime Segawa will be officially licensed and distributed in the United States, as it will come out in DVD in 2011 with all 12 episodes..

The story revolves around Kagura and Yomi, two highschool girls that are members of the special force called the Paranormal Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters (PDCH), an organization that responds directly to Japan's Ministry of Defense and it deals with all paranormal fenomena and disasters.

Can't wait to see when the actual Ga-rei story gets made into an anime too!!

Funimation will also stream the first two episodes in Youtube, just as it's been doing with Soul Eater lately.

New English trailers for Sengoku Basara, Eden of the East and Hetalia

Siguiendo en la linea de la venta de Funimation, han salido nuevos trailers de series y peliculas distribuidos por esta empresa.

Funimation originally licensed Eden of The East at its Otakon panel in 2009. The company then announced in April that it also licensed the three planned Eden of The East films. Funimation will release the 11-episode series on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 28.

Funimation announced that it had licensed the Hetalia - Axis Powers historical comedy series in January. Funimation is currently streaming the first 16 episodes of the series. Funimation will release the first season of the series on DVD on September 14.

Funimation revealed in February 2009 that it had licensed the My Bride is a Mermaid romantic comedy series. The company began streaming episodes of the anime on its website in December. Funimation will release the first part of the series on DVD on July 20.
